Volunteer
Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience – even more so with a dog by your side! Our Therapy Dog services are in high demand and volunteers are crucial to our ability to be able to deliver as many as we can throughout the community.
We have a variety of ways you can volunteer with Canine and Able:
- Visits to hospitals, nurseries, schools, care homes with your own dog.
- Visits to hospitals, nurseries, schools, care homes with one of our dogs.
- Dog walking between Therapy visits (if people aren’t your thing).
- Helping us with fundraising and administration (the boring bit but it still needs to be done).
Your volunteering could really brighten someone’s day – see more on the Therapy dogs page.
Other benefits of volunteering are that we offer training for you and your dog as well as an Animal First Aid Course, and a certified (human) Emergency First Aid at Work Course. We also offer to cover any fuel expenses, provide you and your dog with ‘uniform’ and there might even be a coffee stop or two!
